Year 5 Taster Days in Design and Technology

This week is a busy week of creating mice from a flat nets. Cut out by our laser cutter, these mouse nets are then rendered by the year 5 students. Each student had the challenge of trying to make their mouse look the furriest and then assemble it into a cute 3D mouse. They were very creative making accessories for their mice to make them more individual.

AimHigher Engineering trip to Edinburgh University

During the last week of June I joined four Year 10 students on a three day trip to Edinburgh University. The activities included soldering and testing a circuit board for an electronic game, designing chemical rockets and going to a lecture by the man who invented the worlds smallest tv screen.

Soldering circuit boards and Deanna is in control of her team's design for the Pot Noodle Challenge.

I didn't manage to film the best ones  but it here is a not so successful chemical rocket!
